my "not so little" brother

i really can't believe this kid is 15. a freshman. at my alma mater. i remember very vividly the night my parents told me that birth control isn't always effective. enter taylor. i was 16, my other brother chris was 14, and we were pretty much shocked. SHOCKED. i had always hoped for another sibling, you know, when i was five. so finding out when you're a junior in high school that your mom is pregnant is just weird. aren't they too old for that by then? ha. apparently not. needless to say, this little guy was the DELIGHT of our lives when he was born. we were so much older than him that chris and i kind of were like his "other parents". as a matter of fact, more than once, a store clerk asked if he was "ours". um GROSS, we would reply. i absolutely could not possibly imagine life without him. thank you Lord that birth control doesn't always work, and we get little surprise taylors out of it. i'm not kidding, this kid is amazing. he is sweet, kind, gentle and amazing with my kids. best babysitter EVER. he ADORES his three nieces and one nephew and would spend every waking moment babysitting them if he could. ok, not EVERY waking moment. just some of them. anyway, here's to you little brother. you are growing into an amazing God fearing man, just like you big bro and your dad. and now you can change your facebook pic to something a little more recent. :)

my other baby

braidyn is my very first niece. the very first baby born into the grandkid bunch. my little brother's girl. my first "pretend" baby. she and i are bonded and i love it. i have always felt a connection with her, and i simply adore her. i got to do her FIVE year photo session today and i still can't believe it. my first baby is 5! almost... i love you 'b', you are so beautiful! thanks for a super fun day! oh, and this birthday shirt? that's right... made by her mom.. the ever talented mind of "two little byrdies embroidery"

the zach nielsen trio

these guys are really amazing. they played this evening at imbibe cigar bar downtown on central, very cool venue, and man, what a treat. kenny and i went for a night out and i really love an evening with a glass of wine, my man and some good jazz. and they totally provided. wow. you can facebook friend them, just look up "zach nielsen trio" and you will get emails about their next gigs. thanks guys for letting my camera be up in your face all night. :)

oh this kid. he steals my heart. he was SO wonderful on picture day. this was about three months ago, and he will celebrate his first birthday next week. i can't believe its been a year since he was born. you can see the day he was born here. he was and still is absolutely adorable. it doesn't hurt that he has beauful parents either! AND he has big news: he's gonna be a big brother at the end of summer! congrats again ash and gabe!

i love me some "a" family

these guys are long time family friends, and this session, back in OCTOBER, needed some posts... we took adam's golf cart all over the golf course lookin for some hot spots. at one point, we lost a couple riders when adam hit a bump (oops, don't tell).

the "k" family

i am a bit behind, like three months, on posting sneak pics for my fall sessions! these families have their images already, but i still wanted to post some of my favorites. i'm totally into black and white right now, so most of these are. these kids were amazing. amazing i tell you. i didn't even get too many candids because they were ready to pose and smile! i had so much fun with this session, thanks "k" family!
